About the Role
We’re looking for a data-driven, customer-obsessed, conversion-focused Lifecycle Marketing Manager to build and optimize customer journeys through campaigns using primarily email marketing. This role will lead the effort in turning customers into bigger customers and advocates, and maximize revenue through intelligent upsell and retention strategies.
You will lead the development and execution of email nurture programs and customer lifecycle campaigns—owning everything from copywriting to segmentation strategy and performance optimization. Your work will help define how we engage with our prospects pre-purchase and customers post-purchase, guiding them on a seamless journey through onboarding, education, upsell, and retention.
Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and continuously optimize lifecycle marketing programs that drive customer engagement and revenue.
- Build and write compelling email content tailored to each stage of the customer journey, with a particular focus on upsell and product adoption.
- Manage and segment the marketing email database to ensure messages reach the right audience.
- Collaborate with design, product marketing, and sales teams to align messaging and ensure campaign consistency.
- Analyze performance metrics and A/B tests to optimize deliverability, open rates, click-throughs, and conversions.
- Stay current on email marketing best practices, tools, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CAN-SPAM).
- Manage email content calendars for a global team including emails to support blogs, customer stories, software releases, ecommerce campaigns, field emails, and customer nurture.
Qualifications
- 6-8 years of experience in lifecycle or email marketing.
- Extensive experience with Marketo or similar email marketing and automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Braze, Pardot).
- Strong copywriting skills with experience crafting customer-facing marketing emails.
- Proven success building and optimizing email campaigns for customer engagement and revenue growth, especially in e-commerce or SaaS.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Analytical mindset with a passion for testing and iteration.
- A mix of experience, ideally spanning e-commerce, SaaS, and hardware, with direct and channel sales motions.
- Knowledge of customer retention strategies, churn reduction, and upsell tactics.
- Familiarity with integrating customer journey mapping and analytics platforms.
