Director, HRBP, International - Eastern Europe
Location: Eastern Europe — flexible, based on candidate; final country to be confirmed
Reports To: Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)
The Opportunity
As Director, HRBP for EMEA and APAC, you will be the primary strategic HR partner to senior leadership across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific - including leaders with global teams of their own. You will elevate how the People function shows up for the business in these regions, moving beyond operational support into strategic partnership, while also staying close enough to daily operations to keep things running smoothly as we scale. You will act as a close, trusted advisor to the leaders you support.
Beyond regional partnership, you will also serve as a senior thought partner to the CHRO, helping shape how we elevate both the strategic and operational excellence of the People function as a whole. You will bring an outside perspective on what great looks like at this stage of growth, and help translate that into how the function operates day to day.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned HR business partner leader who has already earned real credibility with senior, global leaders. You are a true player-coach: comfortable advising an executive through a sensitive people matter or organizational design one day, and rolling up your sleeves on execution the next. You bring sound judgment on when to escalate legal and compliance questions rather than trying to be the expert on employment law in every market we operate in, and you are genuinely energized by building structure in an environment that does not yet have all the answers.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Partnership and Leadership
Serve as the HR business partner to senior leaders across EMEA and APAC, including leaders with global teams, building the trust and credibility to become a genuine strategic advisor.
Partner with regional leadership on organizational design, talent strategy, and leadership development to support our continued growth across these regions.
Represent the People function in regional leadership conversations, ensuring people considerations are built into business decisions from the outset.
Partnership with the CHRO
Act as a senior thought partner to the CHRO on how to elevate the strategic and operational maturity of the People function, bringing perspective from organizations you have helped build and scale.
Help identify where the function should invest next, from process design to team capability, and contribute directly to building those solutions.
Champion greater consistency and rigor in how the People function operates globally, not only within your own region.
Team Leadership and Regional Operations
Directly manage and coach HR business partner(s) based in Europe, supporting the development of the team while ensuring day-to-day regional operations run smoothly.
Build a scalable operating model for EMEA and APAC that balances strategic partnership with the operational rigor the business needs today.
Own employee relations casework across the region, exercising sound judgment on when to manage matters directly versus escalating to Legal or the CHRO.
Continuous Improvement
Identify and close gaps in regional and global people processes, bringing more structure and consistency as the company scales toward its next phase of growth.
Partner with external legal, employer-of-record, and advisory resources to navigate the complexity of operating across many jurisdictions, without needing to be the in-house expert on every local law.
What You’ll Bring
The Trusted Advisor: Extensive experience as a senior HR business partner leader (typically 10 or more years), with a strong track record advising senior leaders directly on org design, leadership development, and succession planning.
Deep Business Acumen: You understand the business you support at a deep level, not just the HR mechanics, and use that understanding to actively shape decisions rather than simply respond to them.
The Player-Coach: Equally comfortable advising an executive on a sensitive people matter and handling the operational details yourself when that is what the moment requires.
A Track Record of Elevating How Teams Operate: Experience bringing structure, process, and operational excellence to a People function, not just executing within one that already exists.
Startup and Global Experience: You have operated in both fast-moving startup environments and larger, global organizations, spanning multiple countries and cultures, and know how to apply the right playbook for the stage we are in — including partnering with external legal and compliance resources rather than trying to be the expert in every jurisdiction yourself.
A People Leader: Experience managing and developing team members, or ready to take on that responsibility with genuine enthusiasm.
A Builder Who Wants to Make an Impact: Genuinely energized by ambiguity, and motivated by the opportunity to build, make a significant impact, and drive real change, rather than maintain what already exists.
Compensation and Benefits
Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and internal equity. This position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, and an unlimited PTO policy.
